Falling in love and out again

I'm sure this happens to everyone, but what's funny is that I absolutely fell in love with Soom's Zinc White Archer and now... I don't like how he looks at all. I'm not a fan of the face shape or anything like that! I think what I liked was the centaur body, but really, that's it.

I was also head over heels for Luts Kid Delf Nana and now... eh. There's something that puts me off about her and I'm not sure what it is.

However, this is probably a good thing, seeing as I still have several dolls that I want. Zuzu Delf Persi is still at the top of the list, followed by PeaksWoods Fairy of Bugs Lady Bee (Elena) and PeaksWoods Fairy of Bugs Punky Beatle (KC). I'm especially excited for the PeaksWoods dolls since the characters I have for them are a couple of cute little lesbians. There's a real lack of lesbian dollies, I think.

On another note, I've fallen for several of ResinSoul's sculpts, but only after seeing other people take pictures of their dolls. Their sculpts are absolutely lovely, but whoever's in charge of photographing the dolls needs to do a better job. Brush out the wigs! Goodness. Maybe they should open a section for people to post their RS dolls, no mods, no hybrids. It would do wonders for their company, I think. Not that I know much about business or BJDs.

In other news, Monster High and Ever After High are going to ruin me. Too many cute dolls. I need Twyla and Howleen and Abbey and Heath... Also Toralei and maybe the rerelease wave 2 Clawdeen oh god somebody kill me.

Doll Diary

So I'm currently taking a class about making Android apps, which is pretty damn cool. So far, it's a lot of fun and easy to pick up, though I know that after a certain point, I'm going to be on my own and not be able to use the software that helps. Nonetheless, I had an idea that seems entirely feasible.

Upon reading up on basic "Things You Should Do When You Have a BJD" posts, I saw a lot of times that it's recommended that you keep some kind of doc with all your doll's information, from measurements and sizing to mods. Totally practical and totally smart!

Now: What if there was an app that helped you keep track of that information? Just whip out your phone and bam! You have all the information on your doll plus a picture! I, for one, am terrible about remembering measurements and numbers and whether something's in inches or centimeters.

I pitched this idea to the Ohio ABJD group on facebook and so far, people have taken a liking to the idea! I went ahead and made a mockup in HTML/CSS.

Mockup here @ GlassNight

I plan to make it an option for people to be able to change the "skin" of the app (I'm sure not everyone wants something cute and pink) but for now, that's basically what it would look like and how it would work!

I hope to be able to make an option that all your data is automatically backed up to your Google account or something like that, but that's thoughts for the future.

Any suggestions or comments are absolutely welcome!

[BJD Bio] Mip

SCULPT: Doll Chateau Ada

What can I say? I fell in love.
(Will update later)

Mip is a whimsical little creature, cautious but ever curious. She stands on all four of her tippy-toes, exploring everywhere she can. She doesn't like trees, nor is she a fan of being chased by something bigger than her. She's quick with her feet though, able to escape any enemies that may come.

Mip is quiet in her explorations. She will speak animatedly when one inquires about her travels and explorations.

She thinks human clothes are strange, though she stumbles upon them sometimes within her plane of existence. She likes the loose hoodie she found. She does not like shoes, but socks are okay. Four socks: one for each little leg. she does not like the cold.

BJD Bio: Elena

I suppose this is the first sorta profile thing I'm making for a BJD!

I've decided she'll be named Elena, and her color scheme probably won't be THAT restrictive, but we'll see.

BJD Fennec Fox Kickstarter!

Photo-main

The kickstarter is available here!

I think these little things are pretty cute! I'd rather have actual fluff in the ears, but I'm sure that would be plenty easy! I pledged enough to get a test cast if this goes through (how could I resist?) so I hope it does! Go pledge and you could get your own cute thing!

Zuzu Delf Persi stole my heart!

This kitten is way too cute for words.

First I thought she was weird and now I'm kind of in love with her ;-;

My boyfriend adores her too. Maybe we'll get them together one day.

$185 isn't terrible...

Zinc - White Archer

Well I found my holy grail of dolls.

Create-a-Monsters

I actually quite like the look of the Monster High CAMs that don't have faces. There's not the same kind of definition, but they remind me of aliens. They maintain being expressive without needing to have eyes and lips.

The lab girl is my favorite (I bought the lab JUST to get her).

However, I find myself interested in the Nocturnal and Mystical Add-On packs.

Nocturnal Monkey
Monster High Create a Monster Lab, Mystical and Nocturnal
I wouldn't be putting the faces on them but I couldn't find pics of the blank unicorn girl. I was wondering where in the WORLD I could get at least vaguely matching upper limbs when I remembered Plastic Curves!

So now for some math...

Nocturnal+Mystical Add-On Packs: $22
Upper limbs x2: $20
     +Color for the limbs x2: $6
Total: $48

That got... really pricey really fast.

Now: I have an idea for the extra mystical head (requires some spraypaint to make it white) so let's see how much it would cost me to make a full doll from that head...

Torso from PC: $12
Upper Limbs: $10
+ Color: $3

Total so far: $25

I guess get some lower limbs from eBay??

I wish Mattel wouldn't do things like this...

BJD Dreaming

Well, I might be looking a bit far ahead, but planning is fun!

For my impldoll Gela (her name is Argilla), I'm hoping to give her a new faceup in browns and greens (she has one but I think something less detailed would be better) and eyes like this

EYE_GE12
Except maybe in brown. Or maybe a brown one and a green one. Except I can't find eyes like this in brown! Boo. I'm super excited to get her. Excitement! She's prenamed and preloved but I can't remember her name @__@

Faceup Ideas

Well, to start, I recently commissioned a Monster High faceup from Darjeeling Aesthetics and I've been incredibly satisfied with the outcome! The doll is lovely and right now, only $15 for MH faceups. Which is awesome.

Lookit! Isn't she lovely? Gah, I'm excited to have her come home!

As for the orange staining mentioned in the post, that was my fault. Oopsie. I tried to give her a faceup myself and... it did not go well.

I'd like to commission her to do a CAM Blob and Ice girl though! I'm not fond of the default faces but I love the bodies.

I'd also like to see her do a Scaris Rochelle. I have a "no duplicate" policy of sorts, but I don't think it should apply to customs. They're special!

So yeah. Mura of Darjeeling is awesome.

A Beginning!

As silly as this may be, I thought that it was kinda cool that all these BJD owners had bloggers. So I figured I could make one! I'm hoping to own my first BJD soon, an impldoll baby with little hooves! I've got some plans for her but I'm in love already <3

I'll post pictures! I'm sure I'm not going to have any followers on here for a long while, but this still could be fun. Doll blogging! I collect Monster High and Bratzillaz too, though I'm aware that the BJD community has mixed feelings on those (at least on tumblr). I don't consider them BJD (I promise never to tag a post with just them as BJD!) since they don't have the same level of articulation among the other qualifications for BJD.

I'm rambling a bit! Either way, I think these doll blogs are awesome <3

My name's Pachi! Pleasure to meet you!
